Gaffney Housing Authority Statement Regarding the Water/Sewer Replacement Project
The Gaffney Housing Authority's highest priority is providing decent, safe, and sanitary housing for every resident we serve. We understand that the upcoming water and sewer replacement project may raise questions and concerns for residents and members of our community, and we want to assure everyone that the health, safety, and well-being of our residents will remain a priority throughout the project. The water and sewer replacement project is necessary work intended to improve and protect the long-term quality and reliability of the infrastructure serving our residents. The project will be managed and carried out in a proper and responsible manner, with careful consideration given to the needs of the families who live on the property.
Residents will not be left without access to necessary sanitation resources during the work. Portable toilets and hand-washing stations will be available on site, and assistance will be available to residents as needed. While crews are working on the project, their scheduled work hours will be Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During these hours, water interruptions may occur sporadically as necessary to safely complete the work. Every effort will be made to keep water interruptions to an absolute minimum and to complete the work as efficiently as possible. We will work to ensure that appropriate accommodations and resources are in place throughout the project. GHA staff will be on site while the work is being completed. Residents will have access to all other GHA properties.
We recognize that construction projects can be disruptive, and we are committed to communicating with residents and addressing concerns as they arise. Our goal is to complete this important work while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and healthy environment for our residents.
We encourage residents to bring questions, concerns, or requests for assistance directly to their Property Manager, Rhonda Palmer, at 864-489-3193 so that individual needs can be addressed appropriately. Members of the community who have questions about the project or the Gaffney Housing Authority's plans may contact Dee Meadows at 864-489-3193.
The Gaffney Housing Authority appreciates the patience and cooperation of our residents and community partners as we work to make these necessary improvements. Our commitment remains clear: the health, safety, dignity, and well-being of our residents come first.
